Abstract
Abstraction
Production growth of Large and Medium Manufacturing Industry of North Sumatera Province in second quarter of 2017 decreased by 7.63 percent compared to the same period in 2016 (y-on-y). The decrease was mainly due to the decline in the growth of beverage industry production by 9.26 percent, basic metal industry by 8.96 percent, and food industry by 8.09 percent.
The growth of production of large and medium manufacturing industries (q-to-q) of North Sumatra Province in second quarter of 2017 increased by 3.45 percent compared to the production of large and medium manufacturing industries in the first quarter of 2017. The types of industries that experienced increases Tobacco processing industry 15.94 percent, wood industry, wood and cork goods (excluding furniture) and wicker products from bamboo, rattan and the like by 8.06 percent, chemical and chemical goods industries by 5.64 percent , Beverage industry by 3.66 percent, basic metal industry by 3.09 percent, food industry by 2.39 percent, and paper and paper products industry by 1.07 percent.
Production growth of micro and small manufacturing industries in the second quarter of 2017 increased by 0.55 percent compared to the same period in 2016 (y-on-y). The industries that experienced an increase were rubber industry, rubber and plastic goods by 22.41 percent, furniture industry by 17.21 percent, apparel industry by 6.11 percent, and printing and reproduction media industries by 0.28 percent .
Production growth of small and micro manufacturing industries of North Sumatera Province in the second quarter of 2017 decreased by 0.15 percent compared to quarter I-2017 (q-to-q). The types of industries that experienced a decline include metal goods industry, not machinery and equipment by 20.29 percent, rubber industry, rubber and plastic goods by 18.04 percent, other transportation equipment industry by 11.32 percent, wood industry, goods from Wood and cork (excluding furniture) and wicker from bamboo, rattan and the like 10.17 percent, food industry 5.14 percent, non-metal mineral industry 3.97 percent and printing and reproduction media 1.77 percent.
