Abstract

The number of foreign tourists (tourists) visiting North Sumatra through 4 (four) entrances in September 2018 reached 19,885 visits. It experienced a decline of 16.68 percent compared to that which came in August 2018 to reach 23,866 visits. When compared with the same month in 2017, the number of foreign tourists in September 2018 fell by 1.10 percent, from 20,954 visits in August 2017 to 19,855 visits.
In September 2018, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the most visitors with 12,301 visits or 61.86 percent of the total foreign tourists visiting North Sumatra.
The room occupancy rate (TPK) of star hotels in North Sumatra in September 2018 reached an average of 43.40 percent, up 8.33 points compared to August 2018 of 35.07 percent.
The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests in star-rated hotels in September 2018 reached 1.36 days, up 0.14 points compared to August 2018.
